So, I thought I would let you in on what all the hype has been about today.
Indeed, there was a Just Cause 2 event being held in Covent Garden today, and yes I was there, along with Peter Johansson (Lead Game Designer, Avalanche Studios) and George Wright (Associate Producer, Avalanche Studios).
The set-up they had there was pretty cool, with a quick screening of the first two missions, showing off the epic intro and of course, the awesome gameplay. Peter Johansson talked us through the missions, while George Wright was the lucky one with the controller. It was quite interesting having played the game myself to see how the developers played it, as there are so many ways to complete each mission, and no matter how many times you play the game, the action is never the same twice.
Though, it wasn't long before everyone rushed into the Games Room where they had a dozen PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles set up with the Just Cause 2 demo ready to play.
The big attraction today though was the PC that was set up on the big screen. Though, it wasn't just any old PC... this one was provided especially by Nvidia to promote the 3d Vision technology and the fact that Just Cause 2 is certified to use the technology. That's right, Just Cause 2 is Nvidia 3D Vision ready, and it looks amazing!
PC gamers will have a field day reading the low down on some of exclusive features and enhancements that the PC version of Just Cause 2 has, including Enhanced GPU Water effect for Nvidia Systems and is even enhanced for multi-screen setup. I won't post it all here, but if you want to dive deep into the PC specs, you can check it out over on Voodoo Extreme.
If you've been looking for that excuse to upgrade your PC specs, Just Cause 2 should be a good enough reason. It is seriously cool!
Of course, there are a few things that I have missed today, including a new developer profile on the Official Just Cause 2 website featuring Peter Johansson, and even a new walkthrough posted up on IGN. Check it out below:
Those that were lucky enough to be there, walked away with some Just Cause 2 goodies, which I have been posting pictures of up on the website for the past few days (if you've been wondering what that was all about). Good stuff there!
Also, a quick shout out to Daniel aka forsinain42, was great meeting you and glad you thoroughly enjoyed the experience! I'm sure he'll be bragging about it for weeks!
